What is Drama?

When someone hears the word drama they usually think that it is all about gossip or complaining between people. although that is the meaning of drama in one way, the drama here is about acting. When someone acts they need a story and a script to know what to say or do. That means that if there is a story there are elements of plot. In the elements of plot there are four parts to it. first is the exposition, here is where all the characters are usually explained to get a feeling of what the story is about. Then comes the conflict which can also be the rising action, in this part a problem or important event can occur making the rest of the story all that leads to the resolution. After all of that has occurred there needs to be a climax, here is the turning point where everything changes maybe from good to bad or bad to good depending. After everything has changed there is a falling action, this is where they conflict is resolved and whatever comes after the climax. Then finally there is a resolution which is the ending how everything ends and not always will it be a happy ending it can be a tragic or sad ending depending.
